“Having built the first covert CCTV observation van back in 1998 and following considerable pressure from end users The DSSL group have now completed their first overt vehicle for use by Community Safety Partnerships and other interested groups.
Working with London Local Authorities with a wish list driven by police advice the Group is now able to offer the prototype vehicle to work in partnership with interested parties.
Working with Industry partners Dynapel, Pelco, Forward Vision and Dedicated Micros the vehicle boasts the most sophisticated integration of equipment yet to be offered to end users.
The combination of Pelco Esprit with a 24x zoom linked to Dynapels real time tracking system ‘Closeview’ provides the vehicle with an operator free system with 360 pan tilt and zoom capacity when camera turret is raised. The Forward Vision Mic400 provides the operator with a high specification full facility PTZ camera whilst a Pelco Esprit Thermal Imaging camera delivers a response to open space searches and a device capable of detecting heat loss from cannabis factories.
Completely self contained the new addition to the DSSL range of services initially goes into service on a trial basis with a London Authority close to the Groups Basildon base.
Interest in the Thermal Imaging capacity of the camera has also been expressed by local oil refineries with borders on the Thames. Such a system offering a security solution for the site shore boundaries. |
